Walk the rainforest trail directly opposite the Falls with a knowledgeable local guide, taking in more than a dozen named viewpoints along the Zimbabwean side and the statue of David Livingstone, near where he first laid eyes on “the smoke that thunders.” It’s the essential, unhurried way to experience the Falls up close, on foot.

Overview
The Tour Of Victoria Falls is the classic, essential way to see Victoria Falls: a guided walk through the rainforest on the Zimbabwean side, directly opposite the Falls themselves. Your guide leads you along the network of paths connecting more than a dozen named viewpoints, each offering a different angle on the mile-wide curtain of falling water, from the thundering Main Falls to the quieter Devil’s Cataract.
Along the way you’ll stop at the statue of David Livingstone, marking roughly where the explorer became the first European to see the Falls in 1855, and learn the history, geology and local significance of the site from someone who knows it well. It’s a slower, more intimate introduction to the Falls than a flight or cruise — ideal as a first activity in Victoria Falls, or paired with a helicopter flight later for the aerial perspective.
What To Expect
Meet at the Victoria Falls Rainforest entrance (or be collected from your accommodation) and receive a short introduction to the site’s history and layout before entering.
Follow the network of paths through the rainforest, stopping at the main viewpoints along the Zimbabwean side — including Cataract View, Main Falls and the Livingstone statue — with time to take photos at each.
Finish back at the entrance gate, with the rest of your day free — many guests continue straight on to lunch in town or a second activity.
